It’s that time of the year! Outside drinks, blend into giggle filled evenings. In the hot summer months most people prefer cocktails and frozen drinks but , if you’re headed to a dinner party in July, August or September, this blog will help dazzle friends with unique flavors.

Go to summer white wines
- White Bordeaux– this is a sophisticated blend of sauvignon blanc, ( from France so it is not that green grass, herb flavor-more like green apple and unripe fruits), semillon, ugni blanc ( congnac’s parents) and muscadell. A yummy blend that most of us here in the U.S pass by. The wine pairs beautifully with basil, lemon, and lime-making this my number 1 summer pick.
- Albarino– coming from both Portugal and Spain this delicious white wine has flavors of honey suckle and melon. It is light, with a medium body and sweetness. Pairs wonderfully with pork, chicken, fish and vegetables dishes-this a go to summer staple!
Go to summer Bubbles
- Vinho Verde– also made from the albarino grape but grown in Portugal this is light bodied and refreshingly sweet sparking wine! Usually this wine is pretty inexpensive some cases going for as little as $25. Don’t let the low price fool you-this is an exceptional wine that in my opinion is the best sparkling wine for the season. Needing no flavor syrups or fruits this is my top summer pick.
- Bellini– a venetian cocktail ( Surprise!) made of prosecco and peach puree. This is a tradtional Italian cocktail that is sure to make everyone happy this summer. Sometimes the peach is swapped for raspberry- either way this is sure fire party starter!
