Wines to turn any holiday gathering into a party!
It’s the holiday season! My favorite time of year that produces joy, good food and even better drinks. Below I have spotlighted 3 wines that are sure to delight everyone. These wines are sweet, bubbly and, should have a spot in your booze buying line up!
Lambrusco
Lambrusco is a hidden gem in the wine world. Especially for those who prefer a fizzy drink. Lambrusco is both the name of the finished wine product, and the name of the grapes (there are actually 6 different lambrusco grapes combined to make the wine) used to make it! This is a red wine that has a fizzy pop to it; the flavor profile is berry, and a big range. The dry bottles containing a fresh and tart strawberry, raspberry flavor and the sweetest ones serving up a deep jam or jelly flavor. I highly recommend this wine to brighten up any holiday gathering or even better as gift!
Riesling
Of course this German white wine makes the list for the holiday season as it pairs very well with roasted meats and can be sweet enough to serve as dessert drink! It can handle all the seasonings and even hot peppers. My family tradition is to eat local American Chinese food for the new year and riesling loves to play with everything from crab rangoon to salty soy sauced lo mein.
Champagne
A French staple in the business of being classy, champagne is the ultimate way to celebrate. This dry big bubbled wine is an excellent way to announce you are celebrating. Most people don’t know that champagne is actually a lovely drink to pair with salty foods like dried meats, rich foods think cheeses or caramels, and is just a delight with sea food.
